Messages

Conference Chairman Message:

Dear All,

It is my great privilege and honor to invite you to the 32nd Annual Conference of the Pakistan Society of Neurosurgeons, being held in the beautiful city of Peshawar, Pakistan, on 13th – 14th November 2019.

The Pakistan Society of Neurosurgeons (PSN) is the unrivaled Society representing all Neurosurgeons in Pakistan. I feel honored and proud to reveal that PSN is the member society of the world’s biggest Neurosurgical Society, World Federation of Neurosurgical Societies (WFNS). We have endured both in ideology and accomplishment, to ensure that the practice of Neurosurgery nationally and regionally is in uniformity with the endorsed evolution and development in the Neurosurgical field, especially when it comes to patient care. Educational activities Nationally and Internationally are encouraged and supported, all with the commitment of ensuring that the Neurosurgeons and Trainees alike in the region are equipped with the right skills to serve the patients.

The best part of this event is the collaboration and joint meeting of Annual PSN conference with the “International Conference on Recent Advances in Neurotraumatology (ICRAN) 2019, which will be held on 15-17th November 2019. The venue of both the conferences will be Pearl Continental Hotel, Peshawar – Pakistan.”

The multidimensional ICRAN 2019 event is endorsed and supported by the World Federation of Neurosurgical Societies (WFNS) and Pakistan Society of Neurosurgeons (PSN), under the chairmanship of Prof. Tariq Khan, Chairman of Neurotrauma Committee of the WFNS.

The idea of holding these events together is to pave a strong building of proper management for the Neurosurgical patients, with respect to patient care, training and education of Young Neurosurgeons as indicated by its theme, “Expanding Neurosurgical Horizons”. Furthermore, we hope to showcase the warm hospitality, for which we are famous. I urge our delegates to get yourselves and your taste buds ready for some very unique blends of Pakistani cuisine.

Apart from Plenary and Keynote Lectures, there will also be interactive workshops to teach practical aspects and encourage hands-on participation from delegates. We strongly recommend the submission of abstracts for all the categories from you and your colleagues. Remarkably, there will be cash rewards for 3 best papers.

The important deadlines are:

Abstract Submission: 30th October 2019

Notification of Abstract Acceptance: 5th November, 2019

We anticipate full participation from you all.

I look forward to welcoming you all at the conference in November 2019.

Warm Regards,

Professor Mumtaz Ali
Chairman

President PSN Message:

On the occasion of Pakistan Society of Neurosurgeons 32nd annual meeting and ICRAN, the Executive Committee and I would like to welcome and thank all of you for your presence and support. We would especially like to thank the WFNS and PSN members for their continuing enthusiasm and passion for this meeting. Without the support of our members and affiliated societies, we would not have progressed this far. In the coming years, we hope to continue to contribute on a larger scale to the education and training of young neurosurgeons through multiple scientific activities.

The Pakistan Society of Neurosurgeons has been at the forefront of educational activities since its inception. We conduct various workshops and courses in collaboration with International and regional societies and endeavor to collaborate and work with the WFNS, on an even larger scale. This divergence will create a vast network that will enable us to exchange knowledge of neurosurgical practices that will, in turn, help young neurosurgeons excel in their field.

We are indebted to Prof Franco Servedi and the WFNS EC along with with the WFNS foundation for their amazing leadership and never-ending support to all societies and committees of WFNS. We will continue to research into the cause, prevention, and cure of human diseases in the field of Neurosurgery, just the way our founding fathers did. I would also like to appreciate the excellent efforts of Prof Tariq Khan and his wonderful team.
As President of PSN, I welcome you all once again!

Thank you,

Professor Salman Sharif
